This long-term comfort tavern Life Sim on Steam just added online multiplayer, so now you can design and run a medieval bar with your friends
Every once in a while, I poke in a sublist of the Sims and Comfort games and farming Sims dedicated to life to learn what people recommend, a game that keeps recurring: Travelers rest.
(Yes, Star Valley has a lot of it, but everyone knows one: these discussions are usually started by people who have played Stardew and are looking for the same advice).
During the traveler’s rest, you have inherited a shabby old tavern and started working to turn it into a cozy hotel where you use the money-making gold to cook meals, brew drinks and serve customers to expand Bistro, crops and crops and unlock new recipes. When building a business, you can design and decorate new rooms, hire servers to help, and hire bouncingrs to keep orders while trying new drinks and dishes to satisfy your visitors.
Traveler Rest started entering on Steam in 2020, and since then it has been steadily adding new features such as beekeeping, farm animals and fishing, as well as regular patches and fixes. Back in 2023, it added support for local co-ops, and now online multiplayer is in progress: you can try new multiplayer betas and start running the bar with up to three other PALS.
I’ve just started playing Traveler breaks, but the online co-op feels like the perfect addition to being busy (but still calm) and now I’m hoping to convince a few friends to join me so we can manage a hotel together. As a bonus, this game is great on Steam Deck, so it’s a great game to relax on the couch after a long day.
Here is more information about multiplayer beta, including instructions on how to back up and save the game to avoid any problems.
