Punisher star Jon Bernthal reveals why he barely returns to Daredevil: Rebirth

Since the 2015 Netflix series, it is almost impossible to imagine Charlie Cox’s Daredevil without Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. But Bernthal recently revealed why he wouldn’t be the Disney+ revival of Daredevil: Rebirth.

Wolf of Wall Street actor explained that when he first participated in the series, he wasn’t very excited about the direction the creative team wanted to take the Punisher (also known as Frank Castle).

“Eventually, I didn’t see it. I didn’t see the version of Frank, and the Frank they wanted. [didn’t] It really makes sense to me,” he told Entertainment Weekly. [it] It won’t attract fans, nor will it be consistent. This is not something I’m really interested in. So we had to walk away. ”

After a massive creative overhaul of the series, producer Dario Scardapane was brought into the new performer of the series, and this is where Bernthal began to see Frank.

“They really brought me into the conversation,” the actor explained. “We’re really sure where Frank is psychologically, where Frank is physically.”

warn! Daredevil’s spoiler: then rebirth.

The show was in the latest episode with Matt Murdock for a brief party scene with Matt Murdock, but the moment was heartfelt and sincere, so everything we’ll get from Bernthal in this reboot series seems worth it.

“It’s like let’s see if that works,” he explained, reintroducing his character in episode 4. “Let’s see if there is a real openness and desire to make Frank the authenticity of Frank, a dark person who is enough to make the courage and courage turn the audience toward the audience, make it incredible, make it more spiritually, make it more complex, and make it more hectic.

Apparently, Bernthal is back in Real Madrid’s penalty zone, as he will not only appear in season 2 of Rebirth, but also receives the green light to write and play on the independent Punishment TV show. “I feel like this opens the door to the Frank Castle that I really want to portray,” he told EW.
