Baby Steps Preview describes a quirky but fascinating open world tour on PS5
We finally have more details on the exclusive steps for Devolver Digital’s upcoming PS5 Console.
This quirky game is actually a walking simulator where you can control a 35-year-old lazy man named Nate who is transported to a strange field where he has to learn to walk again. It was announced in 2023 and is currently scheduled to arrive later this year.
A round of hands-on previews have appeared online recently, with few new details that make us even more excited about this weird experience.
If it is not clear before, you can directly control Nate’s legs and feet, lift his left and right legs with their respective trigger buttons and move it into place as you lift the trigger, and use the left rod to move Nate’s weight. The clumsyness with Bennett Foddy, which is intentionally embarrassing, happens to be working on the game.
Baby Steps is an open world experience. After gaining orientation in a cave-based tutorial, you venture into the world, your goal is to reach out and climb a mountain in the distance. It seems that players can explore their inner satisfaction environment during the journey.
It seems that the world will be addressed in countless potential ways for you to solve, as well as discover, character satisfaction and collectible points of interest.
There is no map, quick trip or checkpoint in the baby steps – your way of exploring and where you are, no right or wrong paths. It sounds like you can’t die, either, although Nate will fall countless times.
PS blog uses haptic feedback to convey the surface Nate is walking.
The game will come with interaction and cutscenes, with a handful of NPCs that include improvisation, ridiculous dialogue. It also has a procedural landscape, which will change according to your movements.
When we stumbled upon the PS5 in 2025, we were eager to check it out for ourselves, but how do you view baby footsteps? Stroll in the comments section below.
